New Astro Font | Retro Geometric Display Typeface
New Astro is a bold, compact display font family drawn from retro geometric lettering and the rounded logo culture of the 1980s and 1990s. It has the instant familiarity of toy packaging, entertainment brands and popular graphic design, but is redrawn with a cleaner rhythm for contemporary use.
The family is especially suited to logos, packaging, titles, short headlines and expressive brand typography. Alternate letters and stylistic sets allow the voice to shift from playful and nostalgic to sharper, more structured and graphic.
New Astro began with the compact, rounded character of ITC Bauhaus and the visual memory of brands such as Playmobil. The design keeps that friendly graphic warmth, then sharpens the rhythm with slanted cuts, a more minimal e, a compact s, and a wide range of alternate forms.
New Astro and New Astro Soft
New Astro has two related voices. The main family is sharper, more compact and more graphic. New Astro Soft restores more of the rounded, friendly quality of the original inspiration, making it useful where the tone needs to feel warmer, more playful or more approachable.
New Astro includes five weights: Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold. New Astro Soft is available in the same five-weight range. Both families include alternate letters and stylistic sets for changing the tone of logos, headlines and display typography.
Stylistic sets give New Astro a flexible voice. Alternate letters can make the family feel more rounded, more futuristic, more logo-like or more severe, depending on the brand context.
