Newlyn is an independent type foundry founded by Miles Newlyn. We design commercial fonts, custom typefaces, logos and brand typography for businesses, agencies and institutions that need a distinctive typographic voice.

Our work is used by some of the world’s best-known brands and has helped shape how millions of people read, recognise and remember businesses every day. With over 25 years of experience in brand typography, Newlyn brings together the parallel disciplines of type design and logo design: retail fonts for direct licensing, bespoke typefaces for brands, and typographic systems built for large and varied audiences across regions and languages.

Founded in 2004, Newlyn.com was created to help designers and businesses achieve typographic accuracy, craftsmanship and originality. Miles Newlyn’s logo work has put Honda, McLaren and Land Rover on our roads, two Olympics on our screens, and EE, 3 and Sky in our clouds.

What makes Newlyn different from most foundries is this practical experience of typography inside major brand systems. A typeface is not only a set of letters. Used well, it becomes a voice: part of how a business is recognised, trusted and remembered.
